Possible Side Effects

If Da’Bomb started the quest for hot sauce it was Possible Side Effects that got into me into the sauces made by Blair.  This might have been one of the first bottles of hot sauce that I bought online.  I must have still been in college and took a weekend trip back to Hot Springs with one of my roommates “Shoe”.  I had been there a few times and his dad, who dabbled in spicy things, knew that I was always looking for new sauce to try.  We grilled some hamburgers and I put a little bit of this on and the heat started with the first bite.  This sauce had great flavor and a huge heat kick.  It was one of those sauces while you ate it and the top of your head starts to get hot and sweat starts to drip down the side of your face.  After that trip when I got back home I was determined to find a bottle for myself.

I don’t think Blair still makes this sauce.  Looking online there are few places that sell it, but Blair himself does not have it listed on his website.

Possible Side Effects was my first Blair product but since then I have gone through many, many bottles of his.  I will be posting many blogs on his sauces in the future.

Da’ Bomb Beyond Insanity

This is the hot sauce that started everything. Around 1998 we were at the Mall of America and came across a Hot Sauce Store! Before this, a bottle of hot sauce was mainly Tabasco. This store had hundreds of different options. We decided to go with Da’Bomb because they had a tasting that involved sticking just the tip of the toothpick into the bottle. The heat was like nothing I had ever experienced. The flavor from what I remember was just hot.  It was back when my goal was heat over flavor.  I’m not saying it didn’t taste good.  It wasn’t something you spit out in disgust.  And it might be that we just never used enough at one time to get a real good idea of the flavor.

The bottle ended up lasting years and was always fun having people try this and watch their reactions.  Most people would try it once, call me crazy, and then ask for some water (gave them milk instead).

Because of this one bottle of Hot Sauce it has put me on life long goal of trying as many different types of sauces as possible.
